Trivia / Where the Spies Are

Go To

  • Serendipity Writes the Plot: David Niven couldn't master the idiosyncratic gearbox of the 1937 Cord 810 Phaeton Convertible he drove in the film, and subsequently it was driven in bottom gear, resulting in it overheating. The scene in the film showing the steaming Cord was hastily rewritten to work around the problem.
  • What Could Have Been: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer intended to make a Jason Love film series, but the idea was scrapped. David Niven and Val Guest had even taken an option on the next five James Leasor books about Jason Love. Two of them were written (Passport to Peril and Passport to Peking) with three unwritten.
  • Working Title: Passport to Oblivion, which was also the name of the novel the film was based on.
