• Celebrity Voice Actor: Rita Moreno as Carmen Sandiego and Tim Curry as Gunnar Maelstrom.
• Executive Meddling: Unlike the previous Carmen Sandiego shows, Brøderbund Software required every episode script to be approved by them before going into production. They also asked for certain scenes they felt were too violent to be toned down.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: The show was like this for a while, as other than some 2-episode VHS releases from Fox Video and some Compilation Movies released on VHS and DVD by Lion Gate Home Entertainment and Sterling Entertainment, and Shout! Factory's first season boxset, not all the episodes were found. Averted after February 2012, when a DVD of the complete series was released, thanks to Mill Creek Entertainment.
• The Other Marty: Production on the first season conflicted with Rita Moreno's touring schedule, so DiC recorded the episodes with some unidentified voice actresses, whom Moreno dubbed over once her tour ended.
• Technology Marches On:
  • In Chapter and Verse, the ACME Detective Agency's entire database, Chief AI and all, can supposedly fit on a single standard CD (which Zack bizarrely refers to has a floppy disk). Granted, it was one of Carmen's own pieces of tech that pulled it off, but still, she effectively stole The Other Wiki and put it on a CD.
  • Dinosaur Delirium has Carmen stealing bleeding edge research that she plans to use to turn genetic material from extinct dinosaurs into living dinosaurs. And it all fits on a few floppy disks.
