• Executive Meddling: Originally the film was to include a tyrannosaurus, but the very conservative head of Hammer ordered Val Guest and Jim Danforth to remove the creature because he thought the creature's stance feigned the stereotypical stance of gay men.
• The Shelf of Movie Languishment: Although the film was completed in 1968, Jim Danforth's special effects weren't ready. When the film premiered in 1970, the wait seemed worth it as it garnered Oscar recognition.
• What Could Have Been: As noted above, the film was originally slated to include a Tyrannosaurus.
