• Bootstrapped Theme: Odds are if you've heard "I Will Never (Be Your Friend)" by Irish Stew of Sindidun, you heard it from the short.
• Cross-Dressing Voices: Sock, a young male character, is voiced by a female voice actress.
• Death of the Author: Erica is a believer in this, viewing her Word of God as a "creator's headcanon", and not being more intrincally more valid than any other.
• Fan Community Nickname: Erica suggested "spookyholes" and the fans went with it.
• Throw It In!: "Uh... I'm a demon, and I'm here to haunt you... wait, that was terrible" was ad-libbed by Sock's voice actress. Same goes for Mephistopheles' actor with the line "I'd kill my parents too if they named me Sock".
