  • Development Hell: The series began production in 1997 for MSN.com, but the website pulled the plug on the project before it was finished. Icebox.com picked up the series and funded it in 1999 until their funding was depleted and were forced to abort the series before it was finished.
  • The Other Darrin: In Dirty Dog's first four appearances he was voiced by John Kricfalusi, but starting off with the sixth episode and through the remainder of the series he is voiced by Wil Branca.
  • Referenced by...: Cigarettes the Cat stars in the music video for "Weird Al" Yankovic's "Close but No Cigar", which was directed by John Kricfalusi.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Episode 13 was in production before the series funding dried up (and has not been released in any form), and four more episodes were left to go—who knows how the series would have progressed and concluded?
    • Stephen Worth, who worked on the cartoon, said that the cartoon was planned to end with George Liquor beating up Cigarettes and Dirty, and that there would have been two endings to chose from—a violent ending, and a really violent ending.
