- Acting for Two: Jean-Pierre LĂ©aud, Juliet Berto, and Anne Wiazemsky (Godard's wife at the time) - all of whom appeared in Godard's previous film, La Chinoise - each play double roles in the film. Leaud is Saint-Just and a man singing in a phone booth, Berto is a woman whose boyfriend is killed in a car accident, and one of the guerrillas at the end, and Wiazemsky plays one of the people at the barnyard (during the piano interlude) and Miss Gide.
- Referenced by...: In Harmonic Feedback, Drea's film teacher shows the class an example of a long shot from the movie that contains a horrific traffic jam.Justin: This has to be the most boring and interesting clip I've ever seen.
Drea: That made no sense.
Justin: It's getting really repetitive, but I keep expecting Godzilla to show up.
