- California Doubling: As Marshall's home stadium in the early 70s, Fairfield Stadium, was demolished in 2004, Morris Brown Stadium in Atlanta stood in as Fairfield Stadium.
- Completely Different Title
- Bulgarian: Безсмъртните Маршал (Bezsmŭrtnite Marshal, The Immortal Marshall)
- Canadian French: L'Esprit d'une équipe (Spirit of a Team). European French didn't translate it at all.
- German: Sie waren Helden (They Were Heroes)
- Hungarian: Több, mint sport (More than Sports)
- Japanese: マーシャルの奇跡 (Māsharu no kiseki, Marshall's Miracle)
- Polish: Męski sport (literally Men of Sport[?])
- European Portuguese: Universidade Marshall (Marshall University). Brazilian Portuguese directly translated the English title.
- Russian: Мы — одна команда (My - odna komanda, We Are a Team)
- European Spanish: Equipo Marshall (Team Marshall). Latin America directly translated the English title.
- Ukrainian: Same spelling, transliteration, and translation as Russian, except the first word is natively written as Ми.
- The Cameo: As the film was shot in Georgia, then-governor Sonny Perdue has a cameo as an opposing football coach.
- Direct to Video: Despite starring Matthew McConaughey and Ian McShane, it met this fate in the UK after spending two years on Warner Bros' The Shelf of Movie Languishment - its Stateside underperformance, plus its subject matter would have made it a tough sell - not to mention that a similar tragedy hit Manchester United in 1958. Another movie about American football which did get a British cinema release didn't exactly set the UK box office alight.
