Trivia / Wario Land II

Go To

  • Dummied Out: For some reason, an entire enemy (albeit rare) was Adapted Out of the Game Boy Color version, even though it has graphics and was coded on the original Game Boy version. It's a fish with sharp teeth that swims in a diagonal pattern, charges at Wario, and attempt to hold him down while chomp away at his coins until shaken off. It was replaced by more sawfish.
  • Invisible Advertising: Outside of a guide in Nintendo Power, this game was not advertised in the US at all. No TV commercials, print ads, or anything. Several other game magazines did give it brief coverage, namely Gamepro, but most of the advertising and coverage was for its colorized remake.
  • No Export for You: Oddly enough, Japan did not see a release until the Game Boy Color port, presumably for marketing purposes to coincide with the handheld's release. The Japanese-intended pre-GBC version existed at one point, but only glimpses can be seen in pre-release screenshots, where it differed slightly from the final.
