Trivia / Vow of the King

• Accidentally-Correct Writing: At the time Unohana's bankai was unveiled in the story, almost no details of its capabilities had been revealed in canon. Over a year later, it's shown that the Vow of the King version of her bankai is almost identical to her canon bankai.
• Creator's Pest: TheSinful admitted to regretting giving Uryu his powers back, partially due to not knowing what to actually do with the Quincy or make him stand out when there were already two other Quincy in the main cast, each with more unique powers.
• Word of God: TheSinful sometimes shares bits about the story in author's notes and such.
  • Ichigo has Quincy heritage but not Quincy powers. As Quincy and Hollow spirit energy are explicitly toxic to each other in canon and Ichigo used his Quincy powers exactly twice (one of which could have been accomplished by his Hollow powers) in canon, the author felt the whole thing was ridiculous. Instead, Ichigo's Quincy powers never formed to keep his soul from being ripped apart by two incompatible power sets.
  • Mimihagi does not exist as the author felt its inclusion and Ukitake's resulting Heroic Sacrifice was completely pointless as it only bought the heroes a matter of seconds.
  • Yachiru Kusajishi will not be getting any more fights because of how difficult it was to write how her shikai works, with the author admitting to breaking out 3D models and diagrams once the two fighters started moving around.
  • Bambietta Basterbine was going to be in the polycule, but the author struggled to make her stand out on her own so he decided to regulate her to a single one night stand.
  • Broken bankai can be fixed, unlike canon, but it takes much longer for them to repair themselves than a broken shikai does, pointing out that Bankai have been broken before (Ikkaku's hinges on this), and it only became a thing when it happened to Ichigo.
  • Yammy was killed in his first appearance because the author found him unimpressive and thought his Cero Espada reveal was dumb.
  • Ichigo was able to bypass Aizen's Complete Immortality because the Hogyoku got so fed up with the latter's constant demands that it stopped aiding him.
