- Acting for Two:
- Lance and Coran are both voiced by Michael Bell.
- In addition to voicing Hunk, Kevin Michael Richardson also provides the voice for Zarkon and the narrator.
- Keith and Amalgamus are voiced by Neil Ross.
- Allura and Haggar are voiced by B. J. Ward.
- Dueling Works: With Beast Wars, another sequel to an 80's property using CG. Beast Wars is considered a classic and something of a Sacred Cow for Transformers fans, while Third Dimension is often mocked by Voltron fans, mainly due to its poor animation.
- The Other Darrin:
- Kevin Michael Richardson replaced Lennie Weinrib, who retired in 1992, and Jack Angel as Hunk and Zarkon.
- Billy West also replaced Neil Ross as Pidge.
- Michael Bell, in addition to reprising his role as Lance, voices Coran instead of Peter Cullen.
- Likewise, Tim Curry replaced Weinrib as Lotor.
- Role Reprise:
- From the original Voltron we have Neil Ross as Keith, Micheal Bell as Lance and B.J. Ward as Princess Allura.
- The Latin Spanish dub brings back Mónica Manjarrez as Princess Allura.
- Show Accuracy/Toy Accuracy: Trendmasters' action figure line boasts animesque head sculpts well worthy of the original. The actual show... not so much. Similarly, the deluxe Voltron does a commendable job of recreating the appearance of the Bandai Godaikin version on a lowered budget, while the show really didn't.
- What Could Have Been: A third season of the show was planned, as evidenced by the existence of unreleased toy prototypes, as well as release of the "Voltrex" (a version of Voltron made of five dinosaurs) toy as the final toy before the show and toy line was discontinued.
