- B-Team Sequel: Animation production of the OVA go from Ashi Productions for Harlem Bomber, to Studio 88 for Evil Town and Hell's Wind. Jack's voice is also inconsistent between them.
- Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: The OVA has been miscategorized as hentai by third-party anime streaming sites. Granted, the sex scenes are very explicit, and have even received an R-18note certificate in Japan, but the series was clearly not meant to be erotic.
- Denial of Digital Distribution: Violence Jack 20XX is absent from Kodansha's Yanmaga Web service, and all four tankÅbon volumes are physical-only releases.
- Disowned Adaptation: Allegedly, Go Nagai wasn't happy with how the OVA adaptations turned out.
- No Export for You: The manga hasn't been released outside of Japan, except for Italy and Hong Kong. Given how extreme the content can get, it's less likely it will ever get released elsewhere in the West anytime soon. If you want to read it, your only choice is fan translations, which are incomplete and sometimes difficult to find.
- Manga Entertainment decided to withhold the series in its entirety from the Australian market after Evil Town was refused classification.
