• Distanced from Current Events: A commercial for the game, featuring a heavily damaged bus, was supposedly banned after the Columbine massacre. Molo's school bus was replaced by a prison bus in 2nd Offense and the remake for the same reason.
  • The Japanese commercial is even worse, featuring schoolgirls urging the bus driver to shoot the cars in front of the bus to get away from traffic jam.
• Dueling Games: With Twisted Metal.
• Franchise Killer: 2nd Offense was a Contested Sequel that undersold the original, and no new games were made after it. The mixed reviews for the Xbox 360 remake of the first game put the franchise to sleep for good.
