Trivia / Verdena

Go To

  • Development Hell: Wow took quite a long time to develop for several reasons, including the band being worn out after the tour for Requiem, Alberto being extremely inspired and adding new songs to the album whenever it was almost finished, financial problems and accidentally losing all progress due to a malfunctioning laptop (thankfully they had a backup). Given how Wow is now considered by many their magnum opus, it was worth the wait.
  • Dye Hard: Roberta dyes her hair a different color every few years, to the point that it can be used as a visual shortcut for their albums: it was blond in the Verdena era, dark brunette to black for Solo Un Grande Sasso and Il Suicidio Dei Samurai, pink for Requiem, red for Wow, and back to blond for Endkadenz.
  • Executive Meddling: The band originally wanted to release Endkadenz as another double album, but their label Universal asked them to split it in two parts instead.
  • Old Shame: Alberto isn't too fond of their first three albums because he considers them a growing phase for the band; the things he's most unsatisfied with are the production and the vocal style, which admittedly embarrasses him (he once quipped in an interview "how the fuck did I use to sing back then!?"). He also said he's ashamed of the lyrics he wrote for Solo Un Grande Sasso, which he considers sub-par since they usually took him around two minutes to write.
  • Reclusive Artist: While they're more than happy to appear in interviews whenever a new album comes out, between albums they disappear completely to work on more music and leave very vague messages on their official website.
  • Serendipity Writes the Plot: Endkadenz was ready in early 2014, but the recorder broke unexpectedly, so the band decided to write several more songs while it was under repair. They noted the additional material took the album in a completely different direction.
  • Throw It In!: "Scegli Me" begins with Luca saying "forse..." ("maybe..."). The band liked it and decided to keep it in the song.
