• Dummied Out: Ramal Valt from the anime adaptation of VC1 and Julius and Mintz from the Valkyria Chronicles: Wish Your Smile manga are unobtainable in the Western version, as well as the Anime version of Alicia.
• Playing Against Type:
  • Cam Clarke as the timid, but nice guy Nichol Martin.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Lanseal's Music Room was originally going to serve as the Sound Mode, where players could listen to the game's soundtrack.
  • Zeri's room was originally going to have piles of newspapers in it, to show that he spends a lot of time gathering information.
  • Julianna was supposed to be a male, only for the production team to change their minds and decided to revamp the character as a female instead due to concerns that too many male characters would be shown.
  • Shuntaro Tanaka, the game's senior producer, didn't want to add the scene where Avan shoots himself to cure Cosette's hemophobia, since gunshots can be fatal. Unfortunately for him, the production team opposed him and insisted on adding it, saying that Avan's the kind of guy to do it. Tanaka had no choice but to accept it.
• Throw It In!: During the game's production, a female staff member said that she wanted to see a character who's a butler in the game. Since no one objected, the producer agreed to her suggestion. At the same time, another staff member asked to put in a holy maiden type character. The producer agreed, but made Inghild not tied to Eastern religion or Yggdism.
