• Completely Different Title:
  • Greece: The Wonderful World of Valerie
  • Italy: Fantasies of a Thirtee-Year Old
  • Portugal: Valeria and the Dreams
• Star-Making Role: Even though the film was never really that popular (being a cult classic at best), Jaroslava Schallerova got some of her roles back in the 70s thanks to playing Valerie, such as Marta Meszaros's "Don't cry, Pretty Girls". Nowadays, she is mostly known for playing Valerie.
• Spiritual Successor:
  • Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural is an American gothic horror film, that also explores themes of sexuality, coming-of-age, anti-clericalism and vampirism.
  • The Company of Wolves is a British surrealist gothic horror that expolres similar themes. But as you can guess from the title there are werewolves instead of vampires. Both films feature a scene with a white flower covered with menstrual blood.
• Romance on the Set: Jaroslava Schallerova (Valerie) said in an interview that she fell in love for the first time during the film production, although the romance did not start until few years later when she met Petr Porada again. They married in 1974, and are still together.
