- Ascended Fanon: His team with The Godfather had the Fan Nickname "Supply and Demand." At ECCWnote Halloween Hell 2014, October 18, 2014, they teamed up under that name, losing a Triple Threat Match to ECCW Tag Team Champions DTA (Daniel Adonis and Jordie Taylor) and The BBCnote (Eric Locker and The Ladies Choice).
- Breakup Breakout: Much more of a star than his Canadian Glamour Boys teammate Shane Sewell, whose one major run in the U.S. was as a referee for TNA who had a feud with Sheik Abdul Bashir (Daivari). Shane's only slightly better known(still less than Sean) in Japan and pretty much unknown in Mexico(unlike Steele)
- Creator Backlash: He wanted a more serious and more evil role, feeling that he had taken the baby face porn star gimmick as far as he could, but ended up disliking Right To Censor even more because wrestling in a shirt and tie was difficult for him.
- Fake American: Billed from Las Vegas, he's actually from Markham, Ontario, Canada. It's just as well, since Rex King was a fake Canadian.
- Recycled Script: His first feud as Val Venis was vs. Kaientai and their manager Mr. Yamaguchi-San, over Val having made a porn movie with Yamaguchi-San's "wife." Then he feuded with Dustin Runnels over his then-Real Life wife Terri Runnels siding with Val, leading to Dustin going back to the Goldust gimmick for revenge. Then he feuded with Ken Shamrock over Ken's "sister" Ryan Shamrock. Jim Cornette has said that there is a seven-year rule on recycling wrestling angles. Val ran through all three feuds in less than a year.
