• Awesome, Dear Boy: Hard Val's Night came about because Pamela Anderson was a fan of Lit and wanted them to be on the show playing themselves. It's also why she jumped at the chance to be in their music video where she played a giant woman who eats them and have it premier at the end of the episode.
• California Doubling: The Protocon International building in "Diamonds are a Val's Best Friend" is The House of the Book performance hall and library building at the American Jewish University, Brandeis-Bardin Campus in Simi Valley, California.
• Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The show was very popular in Germany (possibly aided by being a German co-production) with Germany being one of the only places where one can find home releases of the the seasons outside of season 1. And probably why most episodes available on YouTube are of the German dub.
• International Coproduction: The show was part of an output deal between Columbia Tristar and German-based Kirch Group. (the latter of which went uncredited)
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Only the first season was ever given a home DVD release. The only other country where home releases of the other seasons are available is in Germany.
• Screwed by the Network: According to a study case, in Germany Sat.1 originally premiered the show in a Friday primetime slot, before abruptly shifting to a weaker Sunday afternoon and then leaving the channel's schedule before all Season 1 episodes were shown in the country.
