- Box Office Bomb: Budget, $20 million. Box office, $15,220,548. The film did well enough on home video to spawn a few direct-to-DVD sequels.
- Cast the Runner-Up: Walter Hill considered Wesley Snipes for either Undisputed or Iceman. When Ving Rhames wanted to play the Ice Man, Snipes was happy to take the other role.
- Creator Killer: Walter Hill wouldn't direct another theatrically released film for eleven years until Bullet to the Head.
- Dyeing for Your Art:
- Ving Rhames had spent two years getting in shape for a Sonny Liston biopic, but when that fell through, this script caught his eye, and he simply resumed his training for this film.
- Wesley Snipes worked out with boxing trainer Emanuel Steward to prepare for his role in the film. Steward is in the International Boxing Hall of Fame for training boxers like Thomas Hearns and Lennox Lewis.
- Late Export for You: This movie wasn't released in Australia for ten years, until it was released on DVD in 2012.
- No Stunt Double: Neither Wesley Snipes nor Ving Rhames used a body double and all the body shots were real.
- Wag the Director: There were press reports that Harvey Weinstein wanted additional scenes reshot which made Undisputed more sympathetic, but that Wesley Snipes refused to do them.
