- Missing Episode: The back cover of the CD of As Nasty As They Wanna Be featured a note that read, "Keep Your Eyes Open For The New Luke Skyywalker Album Coming Your Way Soon." Which would be pure semantics, as Lucasfilm stopped Luke from using "Luke Skyywalker" soon after. Thus the release of Banned in the U.S.A. on the newly renamed Luke Records. Luke did make a series of solo albums after 2 Live Crew's first breakup, starting with I Got Shit On My Mind in 1992.
- The Pete Best: Yuri "Amazing V" Vielot was on their very first single "Revelation", but left the group after that. Brother Marquis replaced him.
- Streisand Effect: The band was strictly small time until Tipper Gore gave them the kind of international publicity you can't buy.
- Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: Or lack thereof; in a New York Times article, Luther Campbell recalled that when recording 2 Live Crew albums, he "would fill the studio with women and Bacardi rum and make music based on what happened, what he saw, what he did."
