What Could Have Been: The series main character would have been Anton Trese, keeping with the writer's main inspirations such as John Constantine. However series writer Budgette Tan decided to make Trese female and rename her Alexandra because there were already so many tough guy characters in Filipino media, but he hadn't seen any tough female characters. Anton would later be used for Alexandra's father.
Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: When the animated adaptation was announced, a lot of news sites assumed that it's an anime-inspired show which would be produced by the Singaporean-Malaysian company BASE Entertainment, meaning it's going to be an Asian Animation production. However, it turns out that Base Entertainment only finances the show as stated in their website and the studio in charge of the animation is Lex + Otis Animation Studio, located in Glendale, California with Filipino-American Jay Oliva as CEO and founder. In other words, the show is actually an International Coproduction.
Celebrity Voice Actor: Liza Soberano, a popular actress in the Philippines, is the voice of Alexandra Trese in the Filipino dub.
Fake Nationality: Out of the English voice cast, the only non-Filipinos are Steve Blum (Jewish-American), Matthew Yang King (Chinese-American), Grey Griffin (Mexican/Dutch-American), Carlos Alazraqui (Argentinian-American), and Tania Gunadi (Indonesian-American). The production crew worked with voice actors who don't have Filipino origins by showing them reference materials to ensure that they do a convincing Filipino English accent.
Kevin Kiner and his Filipino-American sons Sean and Dean Kiner (also known as the Kiner Brothers), who produced the show's soundtrack, are also known for their work on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and even Extra History.
Jojo Aguilar, one of the show's artists, is known for his work as a concept artist for Zack Snyder's Justice League. He did this piece of concept art visualizing what John Stewart would've looked like in the film.
The Red Stapler: For Chocnut bars (a popular Filipino candy bar made of peanuts and cocoa powder).
What Could Have Been: Back in 2018, Glaiza de Castro expressed interest in voicing Alexandra Trese for the Filipino dub before Liza Soberano was officially cast.
Write What You Know: The show's director Jay Oliva is Filipino-American as is most of the cast and crew.
