- Ashcan Copy: The only reason this game exists (and why the plot is about Ultra Magnus trying to find out who killed Optimus Prime) is because plans to release The Transformers: The Movie in Japanese theaters in 1986 fell apart, and they needed to explain how Optimus Prime was killed between Transformers (American season 1 and 2) and Transformers 2010 (American season 3), which explains it's rushed quality.
- No Export for You: This game was released only in Japan. Given the game's quality and difficulty, most Western fans don't feel like they missed much. This also applies to Q-Transformers: Mystery of Convoy Returns, the cartoon in particular because it revolves around untranslatable puns.
