Trivia / Toy Soldiers

Go To

  • Backed by the Pentagon: The film had support from U.S. Army units, including real Blackhawk and Apache helicopters.
  • Foreign Remake: Albeit unofficially. The 1994 film Brat Pack, which starred Gary Estrada, Joko Diaz, and BB Gandanghari (then identifying as male) as three rebellious students from the Knights of Luzon military school, is an almost by-numbers Filipino adaptation of Toy Soldiers. Worth noting is the fact that the three aforementioned actors all come from famous acting families, thus giving the film a more Meaningful Name — Estrada and Diaz are the respective sons of action legends George Estregan and Paquito Diaz, while Gandanghari's brother is Robin Padilla, then arguably the biggest name in the early '90s Filipino action movie scene.
  • Uncredited Role: Jerry Orbach plays Joey's mobster dad.
