- Cameo Prop: The producers included an easter egg in the Torchwood Hub set by having a picture of Craig-y-Nos Castle, used as a location of Torchwood House in "Tooth and Claw".
- Deleted Scene: There was a scene filmed with Carys and a second boyfriend, but that was cut and included in the deleted scenes on the DVD boxset of the first series.
- Hey, It's That Place!: The alley where the "gas monster" takes its first victim is the same location used at the end of "Smith and Jones" to introduce Martha Jones to the TARDIS.
- Hilarious Outtakes: John Barrowman holds the gooey hand broken from its container…then leans in and licks it!
- What Could Have Been: The episode was originally much lighter in tone, however, the majority of the comedic moments had to be cut on the final script, as they got in the way of the plot. Also, Carys was originally meant to go through two or three ex-boyfriends, but because of scheduling restrictions, there could only be one.
