- Creator Backlash: The first chapter of Tomie is the very first thing Junji Ito ever published, and he admits that the artwork is "rough" compared to his later manga.
- Out of Order: The original printing of the series in the Junji Ito Kyoufu Manga Collection placed the Morita Hospital arc after the Tsukiko arc, but the Morita Hospital arc was actually published in Monthly Halloween first. Later printings of the series correct this.
