- Follow the Leader: Elements of the Power Trio concept may originally have been inspired by Top Gear (UK) for the first adventure; however the Three Men soon develop their own unique take on the dynamic.
- What Could Have Been: The book was initially intended to be a serious travel guide, with accounts of local history along the route, but the humorous elements took over in a sort of reverse Creator Breakdown, because Jerome had just got married, and was too upbeat.
