- Development Hell: A live-action series helmed by German director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck (known for The Lives of Others) was announced in 2016 and development reportedly started in 2018 but we haven't got news since then.
- Late Export for You: For some reasons, the english publisher Cinebook Ltd initially skipped the first two albums The Betrayed Sorceress and Island of the Frozen Seas despite translating all the other ones. They would later be released together as a volume 0 in January 2020.
- Promoted Fangirl: Writer Amélie Sarn who wrote the novelizations was a huge fan of the series.
- Recycled Script: "The Archers" and "The Barbarian" both involve Thorgal having to team up with a villain who hates his guts to compete in an archery tournament.
- What Could Have Been: Van Hamme initially named his hero Ragnar but changed it because there already was a French comic titled "Ragnar the Viking".
