• Fake Nationality:
  • British actress Teresa Gallagher voices the Italian Gina and the German Frieda.
  • Carlos is from Mexico, but voiced by American actor David Bedella (however, it should be noted that Bedella is still of Mexican descent).
  • Raul ( a Brazilian engine), Axel (a Belgian engine), and Etienne (a French engine) are all voiced by Rob Rackstraw (who is British).
• Fake Russian: Ivan, a Russian diesel engine, is voiced by British actor Bob Golding.
• Irony as She Is Cast: Even though she is a singer in real life, Teresa Gallagher does not sing as Emily in the UK dub of this special, as Emily's singing in that dub is instead performed by the character's US voice, Jules de Jongh.
• Meaningful Release Date: This special was released in 2016, the same year that the Summer Olympics were held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and also the same year that famous locomotive Flying Scotsman returned to service in real life, making this a double example of the trope.
