• Prop Recycling: The small-scale model used for one of Gordon's crew holding a hose was first used in "Buzz, Buzz" to represent one of James' crew cowering from the swarm of bees.
• What Could Have Been: Flying Scotsman was originally intended to have a larger role in this episode, but due to budgetary constraints, the entire locomotive model could not be constructed. As a result, Flying Scotsman was rewritten as a stranger to Gordon rather than his brother. This was the only production until The Great Race where the Flying Scotsman appears, but in the aforementioned movie, he was recognised as Gordon's brother.
