• Creator's Pet: Stepney's return to the series came about courtesy of the fact that writer Andrew Viner's favourite book in The Railway Series was Stepney the "Bluebell" Engine.
• Prop Recycling: Some of the funfair trucks reuse the models of James' Trucks with their faces removed.
• What Could Have Been: As shown in promotional images, Stepney was intended to be animated with a CGI face when Rosie's truck crashes into him. This wasn't done in the actual episode due to the CGI faces inability to render properly behind certain objects.
