    • The Myishi Corporation from the The Supernaturalist takes its name from the character in this book.
    • Meg's surname is used in two books; the Artemis Fowl companion book The Artemis Fowl Files is dedicated to "Finn, Artemis's best friend.", and Finn is a false surname that gets used in Airman.
  • In City of Lost Characters, one of Sadness' posts contains the line "Twelve-year-olds didn't die; they went through a troublesome phase and grew out of it" which is almost a direct quote from the book.
