Trivia / The Veronicas

  • Creator Breakdown:
    • In Another Life was recorded while Jess was in tears, obviously over what caused her to create this song and this is heard on the album and makes the song a fan favourite.
    • Cold is rather personal to Lisa because it's about an abusive relationship she appears to have been in, (see the lyrics) and she's still upset performing it, hence her doing the spoken bits. It's her story to tell, just like In Another Life was Jess'.
  • Creator Couple: Both of them and their current and SOME past boyfriends have written with, collaborated with them live or added instrumental parts to their albums, including Steve Corgan ("Did You Miss Me?"), Tyler Bryant (Dead Cool Dropouts), Steve Childs (Red 4 U), and Reeve Carney.
  • Development Hell: Pushed back their third album for over four years and stalled after they released Lolita and it wasn't a hit. They split with Warner Brothers and signed with Sony, who released their album a little over a year after getting out of their old contract.
  • Executive Meddling: The original version of "Hook Me Up" The Album had Don't Say Goodbye instead of the reused B-Side "Someone Wake Me Up" as one of the last tracks of the album. Life On Mars has been rewritten at least twice since it was suggested for an eventual release at the end of 2012, which didn't happen.
  • Fan Community Nickname: Calls their fans "Lovers" which indicates that they are VERY close to them.
  • Romance on the Set:
    • Jess's romance with Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins started due to him helping them with their third album.
    • Again with Jess and her girlfriend Ruby Rose during the shooting of the music video for On Your Side, which Ruby wrote and directed, and in which they both star. They had dated in the past and remained friends, but their romance only rekindled eight years later during the shooting of the (occasionally rather steamy) video.
  • Working Title:
    • Their third album had the working titles of Skeleton, You and Me, The Awakening, Death On Mars and Life On Mars. Finally settled on The Veronicas.
    • "Did You Miss Me?" has the working title of "I'm A Veronica"
  • Writer Revolt: Lisa stated outright if their new album wasn't released by 2013 that they would leak it. Didn't happen, but they did manage to release it about a year later.
