• Enforced Method Acting: Literary version. Ursula Vernon was annoyed by how many 'found document' stories seem to give the narrator inexplicable perfect recall of long stretches of text that they only ever saw once. So instead she wrote out a copy of The White People as best she could after reading it years ago, along with annotations on notes where she couldn't recall the details. Then she cleaned it up and put it in character.
• Shout-Out: The White Stone is a disturbingly erotic statue of a fertility deity similar to Pan, and can cause a Mystical Pregnancy. The Great God Pan was written by the same author, and also involved a Mystical Pregnancy.
• Write What You Know: The author owns two rescue coonhounds (Ernie and Lacey), and lives in North Carolina.
