- Box Office Bomb: Budget, $75 million. Box office, $20,374,484 (domestic), $132,274,484 (worldwide). Milla Jovovich ripped into Summit Entertainment on Twitter over their marketing of the film after its lackluster opening weekend. It did its best business in Japan and Germany.
- Creator Couple: Paul W.S. Anderson directs. His wife Milla Jovovich plays Milady.
- Fake Nationality: Despite being set in France, there are no French actors in the film.
- International Coproduction: A co-production between the UK, Germany and France, with talent from all three countries (along with American Logan Lerman in the lead).
- Playing Against Type: Orlando Bloom is most famous for playing two heroes in fantasy - Legolas in The Lord of the Rings and Will Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean. Even in Troy where his character is less than wholesome, he's still somewhat sympathetic. Here he plays the villainous Duke of Buckingham.
- Playing with Character Type: Milla Jovovich as the Femme Fatale Milady de Winter is different. However in this, Milady gets Xenafication to become an Action Girl - so it's not quite that different.
- Production Posse: Mads Mikkelsen, Ray Stevenson and Til Schweiger all starred in 2004's King Arthur.
- Stillborn Franchise: The film ends on a cliffhanger, implying that the battle has only just begun. However the film itself wasn't considered enough of a success (critically or financially) to warrant a follow-up. A rift between Milla Jovovich and the studio after the films release over marketing didn't help matters either.
