Trivia / The Ten Doctors

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
    • Keith Hodiak's performance as the Raston Warrior Robot is also edited to make him play a whole group of robots while, in reality, there was only one.
    • Jonathon Carley's impression of David Tennant (and briefly Paul McGann) was used in Episode 4 to explain Eleven's involvement in the previous episodes. At one point, Seven brings up the Raston Warrior Robots, but Ten interrupts him, stating that the Evil Doctor already got the point of the conversation. Seven's small line about the robots was also done by Carley.
  • Creator's Favorite Episode: Babelcolour considers these to be his best videos, though they're tied with The Time War Chronicles.
  • Double-Meaning Title: At first, the title refers to the ten protagonists, but then more incarnations of the Doctor are introduced. To keep it from becoming an Artifact Title, it is revealed that there were once ten Morbius Doctors (The Brain of Morbius only showed eight) who have already been erased from history.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The original and updated versions of the entire original version are no longer on Stuart’s channel.
  • The Other Darrin: The First Doctor is occasionally portrayed by footage of Richard Hurndall or David Bradley instead of William Hartnell. It also uses John Gullior's voiceover line from The Day of the Doctor.
  • Schedule Slip: Episode 4 was supposed to come out in 2012, but wasn't released until 2015. One reason for this was that Episodes 1-3 were blocked for copyright infringement, which caused Babelcolour to lose interest and start working on other projects.
  • Shout-Out: The name of the planet destroyed by the Medusoids in Episode 4 is called Karaca. The visual effects artist credited for this episode is Mert Karaca.
  • Shown Their Work: A Cardiff resident commented on Episode 2, saying that the castle featured in it looked a lot like the real Cardiff Castle. In fact, the long shots actually seem to show a picture of that very castle.
  • Similarly Named Works: Not to be confused with The 10 Doctors — also a Doctor Who fan work, but this one's a webcomic.
    • There’s also this action figure adventure of the same name, released around the same time as episode 3 of this production was released.
  • What Could Have Been: Originally, the Big Bad was really going to be the Lord President of Gallifrey, just like he claimed. This was later changed to him actually being an evil incarnation of the Doctor (and thus, a former Lord President of Gallifrey).
  • Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: Stuart has admitted that, originally, he didn't know who the Big Bad was going to be or how the Doctors were going to stop him. Tropes Are Not Bad, as this allowed him to include concepts and characters from Doctor Who which hadn't been introduced yet when he made the first episodes.
