- Box Office Bomb: The film had a budget of $25 million, but only made a little under a tenth of that budget in North America at $2,491,989 on top of the critical derision.
- Throw It In!: Petunia sliding down a chain during the film's climax wasn't planned in advance. However, Ann McKenna saw Bug Hall performing his own stunt and asked if she could do something similar, the the production obliged.
- What Could Have Been: Tim Allen and Jack Nicholson were considered for the role of Stanley Stupid for the film adaptation.
