• Banned in China: Back in 1930, The Skeleton Dance was banned in Denmark for being too "macabre". This ban has since been rescinded entirely.
• Referenced by...: The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy featured an episode where Grim was forced into a Rubber-Hose Limbs animation style and proceeded to dance with three other skeletons, referencing the dance by name and recreating it flawlessly due to apparently being an expert at it, before complaining that the other three dancing skeletons are amateurs.
