• First Appearance: Unlucky salesman Gil Gunderson makes his first appearance in the series here, working for Red Blazer Realty. Cookie Kwan also makes her first appearance.
• Recycled Script: The subplot where Snake tries to kill Homer when he buys his car at a police auction, was previously used in The Flintstones episode "Fred's Second Car".
• What Could Have Been: Originally, the gag of Kirk's arm being sliced off was just supposed to be his sandwich getting sliced to how he wants it, but the writers decided to make it more shocking.
