• Acting for Two: A truly bizarre example: the part in church where Flanders gets angry at Homer due to his nose whistling was, according to the DVD Commentary, actually noise coming from Harry Shearer's own nose. So essentially when Flanders screamed "STOP IT! BREATHE THROUGH YOUR DAMN MOUTH!!" was Harry yelling at himself.
• Blooper: When Homer's chasing Ned's car and Maude tells Ned to drive faster, the way the background moves behind her makes it look like the car is driving backwards but is moving forward when then"camera" moves over to Ned.
• Deleted Scene:
  • Inside the Springfield Atoms' wardrobe, Mr. Burns gets drowned in champagne.
  • Homer listening to Skinner talk, at the shelter.
