• Deleted Scene:
  • A scene was cut, but reinserted into the season DVD release where Professor Frink visits Homer's hospital room with a plan to create a shrinking submarine and plans to travel inside the Coma-ridden Homer by entering his rectum.
  • This is not the case for the shot of Homer falling down the gorge the second time and getting hit by the gurney, which was animated for this episode. The original scene ends with Homer falling out of the ambulance and the crowd looking over the cliff.
• What Could Have Been: FOX wanted four clip shows per season to add more to the episode count and for cheaper the cost. Writers and producers refused, fearing alienating fans. The next clip show wouldn't be until season six.
