Trivia / The Saturdays

Go To

  • Acting for Two: In the "Gentleman" video, with some healthy Screw Yourself implications to boot.
  • Costume Backlash: Rochelle hates the bob with fringe she sported in 2008, saying that she wanted long hair again after a few weeks.
  • Creator Backlash: They apparently aren't too fond of "If This is Love".
  • Fake American: As seen in "Chasing The Saturdays", Mollie can pull off a surprisingly convincent American accent.
  • Hide Your Pregnancy:
    • Una at the time of "30 Days" was pregnant with her second child , and sporting a pretty visible bump to boot. For most of the video, the bump is kept hidden by having her hide behind the other girls and only be filmed from the chest up, although at one point she does place her hand over it, showing it off to the guy who's hitting on her.
    • Rochelle in the video for "Gentleman". For the parts where she's playing the housewife version of herself (the girls double up and play wives and husbands), she wears a dress with a large frilly skirt.
    • Frankie in "Disco Love". In the 70s scenes, she's inside the car to allow the door to hide it. In the 80s, she's wearing a heavy denim jacket and standing behind the counter at the roller rink. And in the 90s scenes, she's just sitting down with two ravers strategically positioned in front of her chest (as well as wearing a black top).
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Una auditioned for the Irish version of Popstars at the same time Nadine Coyle of Girls Aloud did.
    • Speaking of Girls Aloud, during their debut album, they were offered songs that Girls Aloud had turned down. They turned them down also.
    • "Work" was supposed to be released much earlier; as the third single from Chasing Lights. "Issues" was released instead, and then it had to be pushed back again when the girls were asked to record a cover of "Just Can't Get Enough" for Comic Relief.
    • "Forever Is Over" was originally written for Kelly Clarkson, but The Saturdays lobbied for it when they heard a demo. P!nk also was interested in using it.
    • Their fourth album Living for the Weekend was going to be titled 'The Chase' originally.
