• Box Office Bomb: With a budget of $3 million, this film made $274,928 worldwide.
• Hostility on the Set: Jim Wynorski wanted Louis Jourdan to refer to the character of Miss Poinsettia as "Points". Jourdan refused because he knew that the character's nickname was a sexual-innuendo referring to her breasts. Wynorski then asked Jourdan, "Weren't you just in a movie called Octopussy?" Jourdan refused to speak to Wynorski for much of the shoot afterward.
• Star-Derailing Role: Although the film's mediocre critical reception compared to the original and its status as an aforementioned Box Office Bomb didn't boost any of its cast members' careers, Heather Locklear saw her career fall the hardest when this film flopped. Her film career afterwards was comprised mostly of cameos, with any films she had a major role in (like The Perfect Man) being trashed. Luckily, her television career, where she first found success through Dynasty, continued unscathed with Melrose Place and Spin City.
