• Creator-Driven Successor: To Fielder's previous show, Nathan for You. Both are documentary cringe comedies which star Nathan As Himself, attempting to improve the lives of others through strange and complicated methods. It is especially similar to the show's finale, "Finding Frances", as like in The Rehearsal, he helps improve an individual person's life rather than a business. Like the newer show, the episode treats itself more seriously despite having many comedic moments and even features rehearsals in the episode.
