  • Cast as a Mask: For Season 2 of the anime, Kyouka Yuuki and Alexis Tipton in the JPN and EN dubs respectively voice the girl in Fuutarou's photo during the flashbacks and "Rena" in the present time, so as to avoid giving away their true identities. The LAT dub goes twofold on this, casting Danna Alcalá as the girl in the flashbacks, and Gaby Ugarte as "Rena" in the present.
  • Completely Different Title:
    • The English title isn't really related to the Japanese title.
    • The series is titled เจ้าสาวผมเป็นแฝดห้า in Thailand, which translates to "My Bride is a Quintuplet".
    • The Polish title is "Sposób na Pięcioraczki", roughly translating to "The Way to Have Quintuplets".
  • Creator's Favorite: Negi states in her character book that of the five sisters, Yotsuba is his favorite as he has based her off of his wife.
  • The Danza: In the anime, Miku Itō shares the same first name as her character, Miku Nakano.
  • Directed by Cast Member: The Latin Spanish dub was directed by Roberto Salguero, who voices Yuusuke Takeda.
  • Dueling Works: Haruba Negi and Taishi Tsutsui are friends and actually decided to make series with the same base premise (a male protagonist becoming a tutor for a group of cute girls). We Never Learn started in February 2017 in Weekly Shonen Jump and Quintessential Quintuplets about six months later in Weekly Shōnen Magazine; they even received their anime adaptation the exact same year. However, while We Never Learn's popularity is rather moderate, Quintuplets's volume sales skyrocketed when its anime aired, to levels that very few shonen romcoms have reached (see Sleeper Hit below).
  • Executive Meddling: According to Negi, Itsuki's focus in Chapter 1 and on Volume 1's cover was not his original plan. In fact, he even tried to avoid ideas about First Girl Wins by introducing all the girls in the first chapter, but his editor made him introduce Itsuki first and give her the focus on the cover in order to make it easier for the readers.
  • Fan Community Nickname: Supporters of each girl have come up with names for their factions: Ichika Fanclub, Nino Gang, Church of Miku, Yotsubros, and Itsuki Classroom.
  • Follow the Leader: After the manga's smash success, Shonen Magazine has published quite a few harem romcoms that follow Quintuplets' mystery bride formula. Notably, Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister, which was done by one of Negi's assistants; The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses; and Tune in to the Midnight Heart, which forgoes a Sibling Triangle and focuses more on the identity of the eventual winner.
  • Meaningful Release Date:
    • A minor example, but staff for the anime revealed the cover art for Volume 4 of the anime's DVD and Blu-Ray releases, featuring Yotsuba, on April 28, 2019. That day has been dubbed by fans as "Yotsuba day", in reference to fact that Yotsuba occasionally wears a shirt or hoodie with the number 428 on it, which in Japanese sounds phonetically like her name.
    • The second season for the anime was announced on May 5th, 2019. 5/5 is the birthday of the five Nakano sisters.
  • The Other Darrin: In the anime, while Ayane Sakura reprised Yotsuba from the short commercial promoting the manga, Ichika, Nino, Miku and Itsuki were respectively voiced by Kana Hanazawa, Ayana Taketatsu, Miku Itō and Inori Minase. According to Negi Haruba, this was due to practical concerns about potential injuries to Sakura's voice and throat.
  • Pet-Peeve Trope: Unlucky Childhood Friend appears to be this for Negi, as he has stated in interviews that it frustrated him that the Childhood Friend never wins in the Harem genre. Considering that Yotsuba is based on his wife, it's possible that he may have taken this trope personally.
  • The Red Stapler: Miku wearing audio-technica's ATH-AR3BT headphones and later, their ATH-WS990BT headphones caused demand for both models to rise significantly. The company has recognized this, and gifted Negi with a set of the latter model as thanks. Ayane Sakura also wore the former model as part of a Miku cosplay in promotional photos for the manga.
  • Release Date Change: The second season of the anime was delayed from October 2020 to January 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Sleeper Hit: From Oricon, the 5th volume sold 5 times more (80,000 copies) than the 1st volume (about 16,000 copies) before dropping off. Additionally, it took just a year for this series to be adapted to an anime instead of the usual two. And after the anime aired, the series placed 5th in the annual Oricon sales ranking with 5.8 million copies, beating even My Hero Academia.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Drafts for Uesugi's design had various different forms; quite a few that were taller, or more muscular, but notably one of the designs was a girl.
    • During the Second Year Final Examination Arc, the mangaka had a draft of Nino & Fuutarou going to the haunted house together, but didn't implement it in the story itself.
    • According to a tweet by Negi Haruba, there were initially plans to have Ayane Sakura voice all of the quintuplets in the anime, given that she previously voiced all of them for a short commercial to promote the manga. This was ultimately not implemented due to concerns over the stress that having to voice all the quintuplets would cause to Sakura's voice and throat.
    • According to a post-series interview with Shonen Magazine, the original concept of the series was "a boy searching for a girl he met in elementary school, but can't tell who she is because they are quints." The "home tutor" setting was added when a former editor in chief suggested an additional theme to the romance. Flower arrangement was considered before deciding on "home tutor."
    • Multiple Endings were considered but decided against when it was agreed that it would ruin the entire buildup of the story.
