• Completely Different Title:
  • In the German dub, "Host-a-Palooza" becomes "Replacement for Patrick".
  • The Spain dub renames "Host-a-Palooza" to "Starry Presenters."
• Orphaned Reference: Rube narrates that the pets were exhausted from saving babies. However, in the actual episode, we only see them rescue one baby. The rough boards of the episode, found on board artist Dan Becker's website, do have an extended scene of the pets going all over town to save peoples' babies.
• What Could Have Been:
  • In the rough boards, GrandPat trips on a SpongeBob doll rather than the generic one in the final episode.
  • After Patrick says "Everybody, come quick!", his family are followed by a bunch of other random people into the bathroom.
  • The rough boards show that Granny Tentacles, rather than Gladys, was originally present when the pets come back home.
  • The episode's ending was also different. Rather than Rube making a joke about the pie, GrandPat is chasing out all the freeloaders who came to the house for the funeral. This extends to Rube, who he whacks with his cane. Patrick, Squidina, and the pets frolic into the sunset as Rube keeps hitting GrandPat.
