• Box Office Bomb: It grossed around $16 million at the box office, barely a sixth of its $90 million budget.
• The Danza: Elle Fanning's character in this movie is named Mary, which is actually her own real first name.
• Late Export for You: The film wasn't released in the UK until 2012.
• Magnum Opus Dissonance: Andrei Konchalovsky worked on the film as his dream project for 20 years, and it became one of the worst reviewed films of all time.
• The Shelf of Movie Languishment: It was completed in 2007 but not released until 2010, partly due to the 3D makeover. This created the unusual side effect of Elle Fanning, who was eight/nine during filming but looked younger, having a considerable growth spurt in the years between and looking a few years older, making it seem like this film and Somewhere, which was released around the same time, were half a decade or so apart.
• So My Kids Can Watch: Konchalovsky hopes that his kids and grandkids will love it and that it will become a classic family movie like Mary Poppins. Oh boy...
