• Actor Allusion: Bryan refers to Romney as "the Mormon". Andrew Rannells played Elder Price in The Book of Mormon.
• Banned in China: KSL-TV, the NBC affiliate in Salt Lake City, Utah (which is indirectly owned by the Mormon Church), refused to air the show. KUCW, the market's CW affiliate, picked up the show on Saturdays.
• Fake American: Goldie is played by the British Georgia King.
• Old Shame: Many of the cast members seem to rarely bring it up post-cancellation, implying this.
• Screwed by the Network: The show was canceled after only one season due to mixed reviews and controversy over it's offensive depictions of conservatives, transgender people and lesbians. It's likely the staff knew this and chose to give the show a Grand Finale.
• What Could Have Been: Monty, Matt Bomer's character, was originally named Drew and broke up with Bryan after he cheated on him with a girl.
• Write Who You Know: The characters of Bryan and David are based on Ryan Murphy and his boyfriend, David.
