Trivia / The Music Box

Go To

  • Beam Me Up, Scotty!: A visual example - most depictions of the movie in other works show the boys carrying an actual grand piano, not a player piano in a piano-shaped crate.
  • Dyeing for Your Art: There was a real piano inside the packing case during the filming of The Music Box, as Stan Laurel felt it was necessary to convey the correct weight - however, this was only when it was sliding down the stairs. The packing case was empty when the duo had to carry it up the stairs, but it was still quite heavy.
  • Recycled Script: This is actually a remake of their (now-lost) silent short Hats Off, in which it's a washing machine that's being lugged around.
  • Working Title: Top Heavy, Words and Music and The Up and Up.
