• Outdated by Canon:
  • On the 40K side; most information presented is canon up to about 7th Edition of the game before events like Gathering Storm and Dark Imperium advanced the plotline and saw the Imperium fall into further dire straights.
  • It also uses the old lore of the Necrons being the slaves of the C'Tan, instead of a series of empires who overthrew the C'Tan.
• What Could Have Been: The author has given a few messages and replies on how they'd continue the story in their Deviantart account.
  • Gallardi would end up getting into a casual conversation with Lorenzo Dell'Aquilla, completely unaware that he just talked to the Mass Effect universe's equivalent to the Emperor of Mankind.
  • Gallardi is the one who takes out Kai Leng, thanks to his already impressive swordsmanship skills (which were taken up a notch after some sparring matches with Maetris).
  • When the fic ends up going into the events of ME3, Gallardi stays on earth as a CO for the Systems Alliance for its first grav-trooper regiment, and chooses to stay and operate there.
• Word of God: In the same account the author also gives some interesting lore tidbits. Like how Lorenzo Dell'Aquila is the Mass Effect's equivalent of the Emperor and fittingly enough he's also the one who helped the Systems Alliance in discovering how to create Plasma technology. Using his powerful psyker abilities to implant psychic suggestions into the minds of his colleagues to give the illusion that their work on adopting the Imperium's technology look like a group effort and also fastforward their progress.
