- Breakup Breakout: Newman and Baddiel briefly went on to become comedy superstars, with their "Live in Pieces" act regularly filling ten-thousand-seater venues; after their partnership broke up in 1993, Newman retired from comedy and later got into political activism, while Baddiel went on to become part of the mid-1990s "new lad" phenomenon as a co-host of Fantasy Football League. Punt and Dennis, meanwhile, fell into relative obscurity for a number of years before teaming up again on the topical comedy show The Now Show in 2002 — with Dennis then becoming the star of several comedy sitcoms and a regular on panel shows, while Punt carved out a lucrative career doing commercial voiceovers.
- Hostility on the Set: The partnership between David Baddiel and Rob Newman was a tense one and deteriorated fairly quickly after this series ended, although not before they became the first comedians to play and sell out the 12,000-seat Wembley Arena.
- Screwed by the Lawyers: Ultimately averted, but there were fears that Mary Whitehouse would sue over the show's name. This led to early episodes having alternate introductions recorded using the title The William Rees-Mogg Experience, which went unused.
- * Spiritual Successor: The Now Show, for Punt and Dennis's take on current events.
