  • Creator Backlash: When Tom Hanks was asked in a 1989 interview with Playboy to give his thoughts on The Man With One Red Shoe, he had this to say:
    "Not a very good movie. It doesn't have any real, clear focus to it. It isn't about anything particularly that you can honestly understand. It made no money at all."
    • Tom Hanks even went as far as calling the film a "dog", and when asked if there's one movie in his resume he wish he could erase, he said that it was The Man With One Red Shoe.
  • Creator Killer: The Man with One Red Shoe marked the end of director Stan Dragoti's career; his only two films after it were the critically hated She's Out of Control and Necessary Roughness.
  • Referenced by...: Believe it or not, a soundbite of Jim Belushi's character Morris shouting, "Oh, come on!" was used in the 1994 SNES baseball game Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball. The soundbite plays when a batter turns to the umpire and screams at him when strike three is called.
